Department of Geography Funding

• Professors may offer Research Assistantships with varying stipends, depending on the field and research grant funding.
• All incoming graduate students (except those with appropriate funding in hand), are considered for Graduate Support Initiative funding upon their application to the program.
• There is a Graduate Student Travel Fund (GSTF) that supports in-program students with conference and research travel expenses.

TAs

• Teaching assistantships (TAs) support undergraduate education while offering graduate students teaching experience and financial support.

UBC Specific

• There are Award Opportunities offered through the university

Other

• Funding Opportunities both federally and privately offered
• NSERC is offered for both Masters and Doctoral programs, but the funding varies.
